Since 1989, when the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) initiated workshops as open, group experiential training exercises for cruise line personnel, persons from all over the world have had the opportunity to learn vessel sanitation procedures and standards. The training program is a continuing success.

Workshops are based on criteria from the current VSP Operations Manual.
